Alternative Fatty Acids

Fatty acid is an important component of lipids (fats) structure. It is made of carbon and hydrogen atoms. when the chains is a single bond the acid is saturated. When it is made of double or triple bonds, the acid is unsaturated and it is more reactive.

Do you know the difference between polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats?

Polyunsaturated fatty acids: Double or more bonds. Play an important role in the skin function and appearance. ⬇️ Lower bad cholesterol; grape seed, walnut, coconut, flaxseed, chia seed, peanut, tofu, fish, green leafy vegetables, enhance cognitive functions.
Monounsaturated fatty acids: One double bond. Play an essential role in the transportation of the  fat molecule in the blood stream. ⬆️ Boost good cholesterol; sunflower seed, almonds, olives, avocados. Help reduce inflammation and  improve blood sugar level.

Today most modern diet have replaced natural fats with artificial unsaturated fats made with hydrogenated vegetable oils that have been chemically altered and stripped of all nutrients.  These artificial fats oxidize when expose to air and high source of heat. The human body become vulnerable of corrosive free radicals that attack and damage the gene. The brain is the most at risk due to its highest percentage of unsaturated fats  and that is why many medical scientist believe that this is the primary cause of cancer.

Why to avoid processed hydrogenated oils?
  • Increase joints inflammatory
  • Retain water in cells (edema)
  • Causes cancer (mutate cells)
  • Weaken and decrease immunity energy

Note: All  processes oils whether its cooked, filtered and refined losses lots nutrients and then treated with poisonous synthetic chemicals harmful for the body. Whether it is for preservation, once the oil is  heated it become like a  drug for the body, demanding more and more and causing genetic damage.

When buying, first choose responsibly an unrefined cold pressed oil. Consider  natural vegetables and those rich in omega-3s. For example grappessed oil,  top of my favourite oil because it doesn’t thicken the blood. Almonds, olives, sunflower, hemp are great ones too for the same benefits properties that prevent hardening of the arteries.

Unrefined Meaning: contain nutrients, flavour and product natural essence…

Refined Meaning: processed oil, bleached, deodorize, harmful chemical: acid…

Remember nature is so smart it put the medicine inside of the food that you eat. Isn’t that amazing!
